The largest* March for Science, held in Los Angeles, CA, had roughly 50,000 marching from Pershing Square to City Hall with speeches by Lucy Jones, Tom Steyer and Allison Schroeder beginning at noon. Former NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman led the rally in an electric vehicle. The shots here are of the speaker’s podium and a snap of the march coming down 1st Street.

And this protestor was a fellow repeat from the Women’s March- but I didn’t get a decent shot then… This one isn’t perfect, but For Science!

Walter Koenig- Hollywood Star on the Walk of Fame

Here we have Walter Koenig, who is best know for his portrayal of Pavel Chekov in Star Trek, (as well as PsiCop Alfred Bester on Babylon 5), receiving his star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. With its placement, the entire Star Trek main cast has stars on the WoH. Several Star Trek cast members, (such as George Takei (and his husband Brad) and the late Leonard Nimoy), were in attendance, as was a large group of press and fans. This shot was moments after the unveiling…

2015 March for Justice- 100 Years

On Friday, 24 Apr 15, a large march took place in Los Angeles. Between 100,000 and 130,000 people took part in the Armenian Genocide March for Justice, which signifies a global demand for justice by Armenians worldwide and all people of good will.

The actual march started in eastern Hollywood, (Little Armenia), and made its way to Wilshire Blvd, heading towards the Turkish Consulate. The march passed several LA landmarks, including the Hollywood Strip and the La Brea Tar Pits. A stage had been set up just past/west of the consulate building- several musical acts and speeches were performed there, with a mass of dignitaries on hand as well.

The photos above and from the previous post are be from this event.

And here’s to the shame that yet another President has brought, by refusing to call genocide a genocide.

If you have seen the awesome picture of the Shuttle in front of the Hollywood sign, I feel I should tell you something, from a photojournalistic standpoint- those are bullshit. The Shuttle never flew in front of the Hollywood sign, only behind. I was at the Griffith Observatory, and saw witnessed/photographed the entire journey of Endeavour that grand summer day- never happened.

So, those pictures? Bullshit- or Photoshop.
