5th Mar 2018 – Doug Jones, Discovery Deux

Doug Jones, Discovery Deux

A second shot of Doug Jone from the Star Trek: Discovery Red Carpet (blue though it was)- honestly, I’m posting this because the movie he starred in, THE SHAPE OF WATER, just won for Best Picture at the 2018 Academy Awards a few hours ago… And even though he let his hair grow out, seeing him on stage with everyone gave me a shot of joy.

Hells, still tickled I got to work with him before…

Time of the Past

Time of the Past

Photograph showing the inner workings of an ancient clock that was on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art several years ago. Built during the Renaissance in (I believe) the Venice region, the clock apparently is still functional, (though it was not running while on display- understandably since that would put strain on it).

Another shot from the photoshoot with Lifestyle Guru Kristen Gray – taken on Abbot Kinney in Venice, California. Combining the color spray of the faux stained glass with the over the sunglasses glance…

Richard Hatch, Lifetime Achievement

Snapshot of Richard Hatch, long-time actor and surfer (whom I was privileged to be acquainted of) accepting a Lifetime Acheivement Award from the International Television Festival. Sadly, Richard passed away exactly 1 year and 1 day ago. I wanted to post this photo of him as a small homage to someone who embodied caring and genuine class.

Books Taking Flight

A flight of fancy that feels somber; having laid my father to rest this weekend, I wanted something that could show a little of the feelings… Of course, given his thoughts on putting his pictures online, (NOT a fan), I decided not to do that now.

These books taking flight, at The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles, did make me think of how the memory, the story, of one’s life can take flight- I think that works for me at the moment………..

Taken on Manhattan Beach, a snapshot with the subject near a swing in the sand…

Mayhap I will post a picture from the swinging portion as well. (Feel free to leave a comment requesting)

25th Dec 2017 – LeVar and the Rhino

LeVar and the Rhino

LeVar and the Rhino

Shortly after publishing the children’s book, The Rhino Who Swallowed a Storm, LeVar Burton had a read-along and question/answer session at the Barnes and Noble in The Grove in Los Angeles. This picture is from that read-along; and I’ll be honest, its hard to get better than the man behind The Reading Rainbow himself narrating a book he wrote, (especially when he’s such a fixture in so many shows I like as well).

Sidenote- the book is fantastic, and helps kids understand some of the painful feelings that are a part of life- highly recommended!!
