Photograph of a statue of an Egyptian Mau, (i.e., cat), from Ancient Egypt. This exhibit at LACMA shows the Mau, which was designed as a tribute to the goddess Bastet. Given how much I like cats in general (and Mizu in particular), I’m surprised it took me this long to feature this statue.
(As this post, I should be photographing the Great American Eclipse 2017- maybe that will be featured in next week’s blog…)
Snowball in the Sill
Snapshot of my father’s cat- which is a surprise, since he isn’t fond of cats. But I guess the wife won out… Plus, Snowball is quite friendly, which did win him over a bit.
Mizu Mizu Mizu!
A reposting of the first Mizu Mizu Mizu!, with the updated copyrighting style. So, to recap…
This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite pictures. As most pet owners know, our little critters make great subject and also pictures thereof can make us exceptionally happy.
I took this one in June, 2008, and am always pleased when it gets compliments. I’ve even had a few people order a picture of my cat for themselves, (double bursting with pride when that happens). It was taken outside with the standard digital set-up of a Sony α100, using natural light.
Mizu by Tube
Snapshot of Mizu enjoying the tube on her cat tree…
Zommin’ in to capture the sleeping kitty…

Mizu Hanging Around
A quick snapshot of Mizu (the cat) hanging around in a tree- she doesn’t climb trees much, so this was a rare shot of her doing just that.
