Richard Hatch, Lifetime Achievement

Richard Hatch, Lifetime Achievement

Snapshot of Richard Hatch, long-time actor and surfer (whom I was privileged to be acquainted of) accepting a Lifetime Acheivement Award from the International Television Festival. Sadly, Richard passed away exactly 1 year and 1 day ago. I wanted to post this photo of him as a small homage to someone who embodied caring and genuine class.

May 5th, 2014 – The Sacred Scrolls

The Sacred Scrolls

The Sacred Scrolls

The Sacred Scrolls of the faith of the Lords of Kobol, used on-screen in Battlestar Galactica. This is the form of the scrolls I personally prefer visually, even though I would like a book version as well for more practical reading.

The Sacred Scrolls are a set of writings that form the basis of Colonial religion, a polytheistic faith resembling the legends of ancient Greece. The scrolls record much of the alleged history of humanity, including life on Kobol before the great exodus, and the legend of Earth. Portions of the scrolls are used in religious ceremonies, such as the Service for the Dead.

Most notable among the Sacred Scrolls is the Book of Pythia, also referred to as the Pythian Prophecy. Written 3,600 years ago by the oracle Pythia, they are believed by some to foretell the current exodus from the Twelve Colonies of Kobol.

Mark VII

Mark VII

Another photograph from the Battlestar Galactica auction in Pasadena, California. This shot feature the Viper Mark VII, a new addition to the 2003 reimagining of the show, being the advanced model of the fighter craft of the Colonial navy. This screen used prop has a wingspan of 14′, measuring 30′ long by 13’6″ tall, with an approximate weight of 2,400 pounds.
