NYC by Way of Hollywood – New Year’s Day

After a great New Year’s Party came the New Year’s Day- and one of the treats for the partygoers in the Hollywood Hills is house at the top of the hill, which has a replica of the famous Times Square NYE Ball, (pardon, the Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball), that actually does drop for the New Year Countdown.

However, in the light of day, you’re able to see the ball, without the lights- and this is it. In fact, here is a more detailed look.

Duality

Sometimes, its the “for a lark” shots that speak to you…

This shot was taken in the Hollywood Hills, with a view inside a home as well as off the balcony, out over the Los Angeles (well, really West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Century City- though Los Angeles takes over further out…) cityscape. The duality of the views- a young lady inside, looking at her phone in the light, compared with the darkened nature as well as the city lights against the night – really, there is a heckuvalotta dueling dualities here.

After viewing the spectacle through several telescopes and directly (with protection, of course!), I was heading out. But, when I passed the sundial and inspiration hit – and viola!
