Machinac Bridge, June 5th, 2004 by Mysidian Moments

Half-Staff at Michilimackinac in honor of Reagan's Passing

This picture was taken on June 5th, 2004. I happened to be in Northern Michigan at the time, looking for interesting angles on the Machinac Bridge when I heard Ronald Reagan had passed. Now, I should point out, I may not be a fan of his, but he was a much better and more reasonable person than critics and his supposed partisans make out nowadays. But as I heard the news, a color guard came to lower the flag shown here.

The solitary image of the flag at half-staff at one of America’s great architectural feats seemed an appropriate image to commemorate the passing of an American Statesman.
