Tahquamenon Falls

Tahquamenon Falls

A shot of the Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, complete with accompanying rainbow.

The Tahquamenon Falls, on the Tahquamenon River, fall more than 60 meters across and with a drop of approximately 14 meters. They are located near Lake Superior in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The water is notably brown in color from the tannins leached from the cedar swamps which the river drains.
